I finally made it solidly back into the 130’s.
When I look back to what I was doing last year to get to my all time low of 130.0, I was
- working out twice a day, plus a 30 minute walk during lunch
- counting calories and keeping a food log
- hating life
And now?
- Quasi-following PN (maybe more at 60-70% compliance then 90%…)
- Not counting anything, just making sure I get enough protein
- cooking more and better tasting food (ie using fat and oil!!), rarely eating out
- working out once a day… if that
So… what the heck happened? This is the first period of sustained weight loss I’ve managed to achieve… without really doing anything. I guess the point is that I AM doing something.
- much smaller portions of much tastier food
- eating more often
- realized I can’t sweat off indulgences — never using exercise as a form of purging
- not drinking too much
- rarely eating sugar (and strangely not wanting to, for the first time ever)
- not eating fake sugar either
- getting enough sleep
I seriously cannot tell you how much difference sleep and rest has made for me in the last couple of months. To be honest, I’ve been under-slept since… high school. I can’t recall the last time I got enough sleep, night after night. Maybe during summer vacation before I had jobs. My skin is better. I never crave sugar. I feel less bitchy. It’s insanity I tell you!
Seriously reducing the amount I work out has also somehow made me feel so much better, just in a general sense. I enjoy my workouts more, and while I may not be as fit on the bike, I honestly couldn’t care less. I just want to have fun on my bike and feel strong everywhere, not just in my quads.
So, in other words, I’m finally balanced. Well, physically anyway.

Glad to hear it and though I will miss your manic posts, I’m sure I’ll get over it.
um… thanks?
