OK, so the week did not go as planned. Only got in 1 strength/run session, and didn’t race short track. But life is pretty full right now, so that’s just that. I think I’m just going to have to go with the flow. I do realize now that I’m not going to want to run at the end of a long day of riding; I think my best bet is to run Thursday/Sunday.
So yes, I was MEGA sore from running and my really, really pathetic strength training session (back to the adaptation phase I did last October). And Sunday’s MTB was really tough (although really fun!) My knees actually felt almost back to normal (so slightly sore). Woohoo! I think all the rest I’ve been getting has really actually helped. I know, what a concept.
With my strength training, I’d really like to have one real “lifting” day at the actual gym, and one functional strength day, where I go up to Tabor and run around like an idiot on the playground and do an outdoor session. Perhaps this would best be done early in the morning? If anyone is up for something like that, I would love to get out early one morning a week and do that (Thursday?). Something like what Jeff did as Pain in the Park last fall/winter. I only did one of them, but it definitely struck me as something that anyone could do and is a nice change from the stupid gym. They would assuredly involve me trying (and failing) to do pull ups, dips, push ups, stair climbs, jumping over shit, burpees, squats, carrying bikes up and down stairs, that sort of thing.
And I will have to call this Cyclo-CrossFit. Get it!? Get it!? Hopefully CrossFitâ„¢ doesn’t sue me.

I’m in. Can’t do it Thurs tho. I teach Tues/Thurs 6:30am. Wed maybe? Gotta class at 9:30. Plenty of time to work out, coffee up and go get my yoga hat on.
hmmm I Think I want to make Tues/Thurs my weight days…otherwise i would have to do strength on mondays, which won’t work during STXC!
