Monday ride, Tuesday rest

On a sunny Monday morning, I went out on the PV ride, leaving from Multnomah Village. There was a large number of people there, it being a holiday (apparently), so I jumped up to the front and pushed it up the first set of hills, breaking the group into a faster and slower groups (I hate being a group of more then 8-10 on urban rides). I had sprints on the schedule, and a sprinter willing to give me some help, so that was my plan. As soon as we hit rollers, Javad led me out on each one; I have never had anyone leading me out anywhere, so I wasn’t even sure when I should jump; I managed to get a few pretty successful sprints in, but it didn’t take long for me to tire. Doesn’t help that he’s a sprinter, so often I couldn’t get around my lead out :)

But I have to say I felt awesome on that ride. Even after all the hills and all the sprints, I managed to stay up the entire time, bridge one especially hard gap, and generally completely bury myself. It ruled. And required some burrito recovery afterwards.

A mere 6 hours later we were in the gym lifting. Ouch. Thankfully we cut the actual lifting a bit short, and did a foam roller session. OW! That is some serious pain. I kept squealing it hurt so bad. Perhaps I need to return to the church of the foam roller, now that I’m training again.

On the unemployment front, I did some networking, some job applications, and was actually insanely busy all day today. Very productive, hopefully something will come out of that.
