Ow.
So this was my first attempt racing A’s. I can’t say I had high hopes about much of anything, it was kind of a test to see how I stand. Well, I wasn’t last. Although I was close.
Those ladies are fast. I felt like I raced a really awesome race for the first 4 or 5 laps, staying on the group’s tail the entire time. There were a few people I figured I could pass as soon as they got tired. Unfortunately…I was the one who got tired. I pretty much died with 3 to go, it was ugly. But I never got lapped, so that was awesome, especially since Sue Butler was racing.
My lack of cross skills really showed here, I was really slow over the barriers. I think I could have passed some of those people and rallied if I hadn’t slowed down so much on the remount. My heart rate was never under 168 the entire 45 minutes, so I pushed it pretty damn hard.
