October-Nov
- CX crusade
What the…? Every race promoter wants to jump on the cyclocross band wagon (re:$$$$), however, everyone knows CX Crusade is where it’s at. So…that pretty much leaves September since no one wants to put a race during that series. Last year, there were 3 races prior to CX Crusade–1 Kruger’s race, Hood River, and Battle at Barlow. Now there are 2 race series and a few extra one day races. Woah! However, these will not be real cross races, September is still summer in Portland. These Kermesse races will favor road racers for sure. I’m not sure what I’ll want to do; I’m afraid if I do too many Kermesse races, I’ll get sick of cross before CX Crusade is even over. Although usually what I’m sick of is being cold and having to power wash everything after the races, so maybe the Kermesse’s won’t result in this, since it will likely be dry and warm.
It’s not even really summer yet and already everyone is talking ‘cross.

It is a good thing I have two cross bikes. I can alternate riding them so that I don’t have to clean them as often….yeah I am lazy.
That’s a lot going on. The Kermesse’s look really fun.
