Want to find your edge fast?

For some reason I find body weight exercises damn hard–they make me feel like a complete weeny. I could be in the gym bench pressing crazy weight, but as soon as I have to do burpees and handstands, I’m toast. This morning I did 3 5×5’s (5 minutes at 170-180bpms, 5 min rest), and a few spin ups (30 second sprints). 5×5’s are painful. After 2 minutes you feel spent, and you’re not even half there. I really had to do some mental work to get through the last one; what got me through it was thinking about how I have to push through the pain, welcome the pain, love the pain, so in a race I can push past it rather then succumb to it. After that I did 3 rounds of strength training intervals (lunges, push ups, sumo squats, box steps, hand stands, plank). I want to do more of this, it’s so hard core. :)
