I admit, I am embarrassed to say that I’m “on a diet”. And I’m even more embarrassed to say that it’s primarily because I saw myself in a bunch of pictures from races and thought “HOLY CRAP! Mine hips are HUGE!” I know, it’s horrible. I mean, not many people can pull off spandex, but still.
So over the last 4 days of calorie-counting, if I minus my “net” total (cals – exercise) from what I supposedly burn in a day if I sit on my ass (~1800cals) to eat given that I want to lose 2 lbs/wk, I get -2941. 1 pound is 3500 cals. So maybe I actually lost a pound. Scales are kind of finicky so it’s hard to tell (yes, the scale said I actually dropped 2.5 pounds, probably because all the tea I’ve been consuming acts as a diuretic). I’m going to slightly adjust everything next week, I’ll probably pretty much eat exactly the same though. Although I AM switching from GoLean protein shakes to almond milk + hemp protein powder for breakfast. I’m not sure how that’s going to taste, straight up like that. I’m too lazy for a blender, so I want something I can just stir (plus I make breakfast at work).
I’ve decided I’ve been a total pansy about weight lifting and working out, so I’m going to hit it hard next week, cross be damned. I’ve been sore the last few weeks, so maybe the soreness thing will end. But I think I’m ratcheting it up to twice a week. Eventually 3 times.
