I’ve been riding a lot more recently then I have in a while, and I’m loving it. Last week I went out to Sauvie Island and did a little time trial test to see where I’m at (considering doing the OBRA TT Championships in 2 weeks). It was about 7pm, clear sky…as I was out there the sun was slowly setting, and the whole beautiful island was bathed in pink light. So amazing, I love it out there. I did 24 miles in 1h 11min, with a headwind on the first return trip (1 lap of the island is ~12 miles).
This week I did an out and back on Skyline and ended up riding 35 miles, which is a bit more then usual for a during the week ride. Then the next day I went out and did a 2 hour MTB ride in Forest Park. I parked at Saltzman Road, went down it (not the best idea, really dull downhill), rode up Leif to firelane 3 (whee!), went up and down that, then rode back up Saltzman, down Springville (ok), and back up Saltzman again. All in all it was a beautiful evening, but I don’t think I chose the best route. I think I’m going to try the wild side next time.
So tomorrow is the PV century (gulp) that will involve going up Bald Peak as well as Hagg Lake….should be a nice, painful ride.
